How To Create Cool Vintage Bedroom Vibes For Kids!
I always love experimenting with how colours can transform a space. And sometimes, all you need is a simple change of a print and a throw and you are good to go. And that’s just what I did did in Indi’s room to go from ‘Pretzel Party Pink’ to old-school cool ‘Vintage Vibes!’
Total time – literally five minutes! How good is that!!!
key pieces to create the vintage look
The key pieces I used to create these vintage vibes are –
- Pineapple Print
- Berrylicous Throw
- I heart you Throw
- Giant Miffy Lamp
- Sunrise Toddler bed
And of course, you can’t get vintage without a bit of vintage, like this vintage cane shelving unit – got to love thrifting!
tips to tie in colour
As I had taken out most of the pink for the previous look HERE, and replaced it with red, a simple addition of an old Hawaiian flower crown placed over Miffy’s ear was all that was needed to help to tie in the new colours.
This little styling trick helps your eye ‘bounce’ around the room, making things feel cohesive without being too matchy matchy.
The introduction of the black in the frame and print also picks up on the features in Miffy’s face, and the wall decor ‘sleepy eyes’. Once again, helping things to flow.
By keeping the base colour white you could keep the entire room like this, and simply swap out the KIP and Co blankets with a different colour and the look would still work. Then all you need to do is create a cute little DIY for Miffy to introduce the new colour! Options – endless!!!
For me personally, I’m loving how one look was super girly with pops of pink, while this is a little more toddler cool with the edgy pops of black. Either way, both spaces are still playful and fun. And I know all it takes is a quick five minutes and I can change it up again!
Till next time – hope your day is filled with happy,
